Serving
Greater Seattle's Kosher Needs and More...
What is the Va'ad? The Va'ad takes care of Kashrut issues, gives supervision on various kosher products and kosher establishments, and functions as a Bet Din (religious court) issuing Gittin (Jewish divorces), facilitating and issuing conversions, and hearing legal and quasi-legal disputes.
How old is the Va'ad? The Va'ad HaRabanim was organized in 1993 to replace the former Seattle Kashruth Board. The Kashruth Board was organized in the early 1900s to provide kosher meat for the community.
What Food does the Va'ad Oversee? In addition to providing kosher meat, the board provides kosher supervision for many restaurants, bakeries, retail outlets and catering facilities in the Seattle area. For further questions and information, please contact the Va'ad or refer to our Product Guide.
