Eruv Hotline

What is the ERUV? An eruv is a system of fences, poles and wires which surround a neighborhood; it allows Observant Jews to carry items from private to public areas on the Sabbath.

The Seward Park Eruv surrounds virtually all of the Seward Park neighborhood of Seattle.

The Seward Park Eruv was completed in 1991 under the direction and supervision of Rabbi Shimon Eider of Lakewood, New Jersey.  It is checked on a weekly basis to ensure that it is intact.  The Eruv is operated and funded by Bikur Cholim Machzikay Hadath Congregation.

For up to the minute announcements regarding the status of the Eruv (especially in inclement weather) please contact the Eruv Hotline (operates Friday after 10 a.m.) at
206-725-ERUV (3788)
